Privacy policy
PaceShelf is published by Black and Blue. This policy applies to the PaceShelf Android app and this website.
Information processed on your device
PaceShelf may access files you deliberately select, including PDFs and audio. It stores library metadata, extracted or recognized text, generated audio, reading and listening progress, bookmarks, preferences, and trial state in the app's private storage. Android may also retain files you explicitly export.
Information processed by service providers
- Google Play processes installation, licensing, purchases, payments, refunds, and subscription management under Google's terms.
- RevenueCat processes an anonymous app-user identifier, product and entitlement status, purchase history, and limited device/app diagnostics needed to provide and troubleshoot billing. PaceShelf does not send document content or titles to RevenueCat.
- Firebase Analytics and Crashlytics process privacy-scoped app events, app-instance and device/app information, masked-network-derived coarse country or region, crash traces, and diagnostics so we can understand reliability. PaceShelf does not attach document names, document text, OCR output, bookmarks, or audio content to these events.
- Google ML Kit performs text recognition on the device. Google's SDK may process limited configuration and diagnostic information as described in Google's ML Kit and Play data-disclosure documentation; PaceShelf does not upload selected document pages or recognized text to a Black and Blue server.
Sharing, selling, and advertising
We do not sell personal information. PaceShelf contains no third-party advertising and disables advertising-ID collection and ad-personalization signals. Information is disclosed only to the processors above, when a user asks us to provide support, or when legally required.
Security and international processing
Local app data is protected by Android's application sandbox and device security. Network traffic to Google, Firebase, and RevenueCat uses encrypted transport. No system is perfectly secure. These providers may process information in countries other than yours under their own legal safeguards.
Children and teenagers
PaceShelf is intended for people aged 13 and older. It is not directed to children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided information through a PaceShelf service provider, contact us so we can investigate and request deletion where possible.
Your choices
You can avoid optional document processing by not importing a file, manage or cancel subscriptions through Google Play, delete local data as described below, and contact us about information associated with PaceShelf's service-provider identifiers.
Google Play Data Safety summary
The final Play Console form must be checked against the exact release build. For the current candidate:
- Files and document content are user-selected and processed locally; they are not sent to Black and Blue.
- Purchase history is collected by RevenueCat and Google Play to provide purchases, subscriptions, entitlement verification, fraud prevention, and support.
- App interactions, app-instance and device/app information, masked-network-derived coarse country or region, crash logs, and diagnostics are collected by Firebase for analytics, reliability, and security.
- Data in transit to service providers is encrypted.
- There are no ads, advertising-ID collection, or sale of user data.
This website is the controlling public disclosure if store copy is abbreviated.
Data deletion
Delete local PaceShelf data
- Delete individual books inside PaceShelf to remove their stored metadata and app-managed files.
- To remove all app data, use Android Settings → Apps → PaceShelf → Storage → Clear storage, or uninstall PaceShelf.
- Delete separately exported files from the location where you saved them.
Request service-provider deletion
Email developer@blackandblue.co.in with the subject PaceShelf privacy request. Include the minimum information needed to locate the record, such as the anonymous app-user identifier shown by support tooling or a Google Play order identifier. Never email document content.
We will request deletion from systems we control or can administer. Google Play may retain payment, tax, fraud, dispute, or legal records. RevenueCat and Firebase may retain limited records for security, compliance, or backup cycles. Deleting billing records does not itself cancel a subscription; cancel it in Google Play.
Terms of use
By using PaceShelf you agree to these terms. You must be at least 13, be legally able to agree, and have permission to use every document or audio file you import.
- PaceShelf is a reading and media utility, not a content provider. You are responsible for copyright, privacy, and lawful use of imported material.
- Do not use the app to infringe rights, bypass protection, distribute unauthorized copies, or violate law.
- Subscriptions renew automatically unless canceled in Google Play before renewal. Available products, localized prices, trials, taxes, and billing periods are shown by Google Play before purchase.
- Google Play controls billing, cancellation, and applicable refund handling. Restoring purchases requires the relevant Google Play account and network access.
- PaceShelf depends on device text-to-speech, storage, media, and recognition capabilities. Output quality and availability vary by device and source material.
- The service is provided without a guarantee that every file will import, every recognition result will be accurate, or generated audio will be error-free. Nothing here excludes rights that cannot legally be excluded.
We may update the app or these terms for security, policy, product, or legal reasons. Material changes will be reflected by the date above.
Support and privacy contact
Email developer@blackandblue.co.in. Include the app version, Android version, device model, and a concise description. Do not attach private documents, recognized text, or generated audio.
For privacy or deletion requests, use the subject PaceShelf privacy request. We aim to acknowledge support and privacy messages within seven business days.
